Electrochemical Water Disinfection

Investigating the use of platinized titanium electrodes for electrochemical inactivation of Escherichia coli (E. coli), aiming to develop an efficient and sustainable water disinfection method for low ionic strength media similar to potable water. This work compares two- and three-electrode configurations and elucidates the mechanisms underlying disinfection, particularly the role of reactive oxygen species.
